Advice & Tips:
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth 10-15°C & keep moist.
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Gradually accustom plants to outside condition for 2-3 weeks before planting out during summer and autumn. Young plants will then become established before the onset of winter. Allow 30cm between plants.
Seed can also be sown outdoors in short pre watered shallow rows deep. Lightly cover with a little soil & keep the soil moist until seedlings emerge. Thin them out to 2cm apart when large enough to handle, before transplanting them to their permanent positions in autumn.
