Griselle shallots are a pink fleshed, full flavoured shallot that is considered by most chefs as the "true shallot". It is high in vitamin c, potassium and folic acid so its not only tasty but extremely good for you. Griselle shallots are a banana shallot variety with a strong and spicy flavour, which can be pickled or stored for up to 6 months. This is a popular shallot variety in France, and it is also a drought tolerant variety, making it ideal for changeable weather.
