An American heirloom, Crosbys Egyptian is an early multigerm beetroot variety with resistance to bolting. Sow these seeds for round flattened roots with an excellent flavour & texture. Roots can be lifted young as baby beets or left to mature for larger beets.
Sow outdoors between March-July & they will typically be ready to harvest between June-October.

Advice & Tips:
Sow thinly outdoors where they will crop, allowing 30cm between rows
Seedlings usually appear in 7-21 days
Thin seedlings to 10cm apart
Water well until established
Sow every 3 weeks to ensure a continuous supply of young beets
Harvested roots can be stored in dry sand for winter use
Twisting off the leaves will prevent bleeding
Young leaves are edible & can be cooked like spinach
