Duke of York potatoes are an old heritage potato variety, which you can now grow at home thanks to this seed potato pack from Jamieson Brothers (JBA). This variety is well known for having a great taste and for being extremely versatile, as it is suitable for baking and boiling, as well as mashing and chipping.
The tubers are oval shaped and have a yellow flesh, and have an excellent resistance to dry rot while in the ground.

Advice & Tips:
Soon after purchasing, empty the seed potatoes into a shallow box, such as an egg box, and store them in a cool area protected from frost.
Two weeks before planting out, move the seed potatoes to a light area so that they can produce a strong, thick sprout - make sure they are rose eye upwards. When exposed to light, the potatoes will turn green - this is normal.
When planted into the ground, each potato should be approximately 25cm from the next, with rows spaced approximately 60cm apart. The potatoes should be approximately 15cm into the ground.
