The Resistafly carrot seed is a main crop harvest variety which is resistant to carrot fly. This carrot is known for it's large cylindrical roots, a British bred Nantes type. When sowing, mix the carrot seeds with silver sand to make sowing easier and with less need for thinning. Advice & Tips:
Sow seeds thinly 1cm deep in pre-watered rows & cover with a little soil. Allow 15cm between rows. Carrots do best in light stone free soils.
As seedlings develop, thin initially to 2cm apart. Later thin again to about 5cm apart. Thinnings are delicious cooked as finger carrots or raw in salads. Thinning is best kept to a minimum as crushed leaves attract carrot root fly. Keep soil moist after thinning.
