Producing flowers throughout the summer season, the 'Emily McKenzie' variety of Crocosmia is perfect for adding warmth to your outdoor space, with each of the large orange blooms featuring a splash of dark red at the base.
With its unique look, this variety would work well amongst other exotic-looking flowers in the middle of beds and borders, growing to a height of approximately 60cm. The flowers also look great when cut and used in a bouquet; if you have a smaller garden, 'Emily McKenzie' can be grown in containers for a more concentrated display.
Key Information:
Bright orange flowers with a dark red base
Suitable for growing in beds, borders and containers
Need little attention once established
Advice & Tips:
Plant in well-drained but moist soil in a sunny, open location. Bulbs should be planted approximately 5cm into the soil, leaving 10cm between bulbs.
Once established, Crocosmia will need very little attention, but will require mulch during winter months for protection.
Crocosmia should be lifted, divided and replanted every 3-5 years due to the corms readily multiplying - the flowers will not bloom as well if congested.
