A bushy evergreen shrub with oval, mint-scented variegated leaves and pink-purple spring blooms. Best in a greenhouse or in a pot on a sunny sheltered patio so it can be moved indoors in winter. Not commonly used as a culinary herb but the fresh mint -flavoured leaves make a refreshing tea added to boiling water.
