Black Opal is a heavy cropping cherry type tomato with a deep colour, great for eating fresh or cooked. Sow these seeds outdoors or in a greenhouse for high yields of tasty fruits that provide a great source of vitamin C & antioxidants.

Advice & Tips:

  • Sow thinly indoors in pot of compost

  • Seedlings usually appear within 7-14 days
  • Transplant to individual pots when seedlings are 10-15cm tall & grow on in cooler conditions
  • Plant out April-May to large pots, growbags or greenhouse borders
  • Provide support, pinch out side shoots regularly & pinch out growing tip after 5-6 trusses have set
  • Delay indoor sowing to March or April for outdoor crops
