Mr Fothergills Winter Squash Seeds - Honey Bear F1 Variety

Honey Bear F1 is a powdery mildew resisting winter squash variety, producing acorn squashes that grow up to 10cm. These seeds will yield compact, bushy plants with good crops of sweet tasting 'mini' squashes that provide a good source of vitamins A & C and folate.

Sow indoors between March-May or outdoors in May & they will typically be ready to Harvest between September-October.

Advice & Tips:

  • Sow indoors in small pots of compost for best results
  • Keep in the warmth - a temperature of 15-20°C is ideal & keep moist
  • Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days
  • Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out - avoid frosts
  • Plant out 60cm apart when frosts are over
  • Or sow outdoors where they will crop, allowing 60cm between positions
  • Water well until established
  • Crops can be stored in a dry, frost-free place for several months
