The Rocket seed potato variety produces a substantial crop of white skinned and uniform-shaped potatoes early in the summer, making them a wonderful choice for boiling and for use in salads.
Although this variety has a good resistance to common potato diseases, Rocket potato tubers are prone to cracking whilst in the ground - to avoid this, it is recommended to lift the potatoes before they reach full maturity.
Key Information:
Versatile potato, but best when used in salads or when boiled
White skin and flesh with a mild taste
Produces a substantial yield of uniform, round tubers
Advice & Tips:
Soon after purchasing, empty the seed potatoes into a shallow box, such as an egg box, and store them in a cool area protected from frost.
Two weeks before planting out, move the seed potatoes to a light area so that they can produce a strong, thick sprout - make sure they are rose eye upwards. When exposed to light, the potatoes will turn green - this is normal.
When planted into the ground, each potato should be approximately 25cm from the next, with rows spaced approximately 60cm apart. The potatoes should be approximately 15cm into the ground.
