FEBRUARY
Remove Weeds to compost heat. Start planting veg and flower seeds in heated greenhouses and propagators. Plant bare rooted shrubs and trees. Remove stumps of brassicas immediately after harvesting. Dig over ground if not to wet Cover pieces of ground for immediate use with clear polythene or clotches to try and get the soil to warm up Use fruit tree grease to protect against summer pests Continue feeding birds, we have a huge range of bird feeders and feed here

JUNE
Regularly mow the lawn and feed with liquid lawn feed
Keep weeds down in beds and borders with regular hoeing
Plant out summer bedding plants in beds, planters and hanging baskets regular feeding with liquid food such as Tomorite or Miracle-Gro
Stake and use plant support frames to support tall or floppy overhanging herbaceous perennials
Pinch out any side shoots on tomato plants
Now is a good month to take cuttings from your pinks (Dianthus)
Keep an eye out for pests and diseases and apply organic or chemical control as you prefer
Keep plants well irrigated especially pots and hanging baskets during hot sunny periods
Regular dead head of roses and other flowering plants will encourage new flower buds
Prune back and tidy spring flowering shrubs
AUGUST
The hottest of months, and the garden is in full swing, with fruit bushes and trees producing the yields to harvest as they become ripe enough to pick, so make sure you are harvesting regularly.
Don’t forget to water regularly and ensure your friends, family and neighbours are on watering duty while your on your summer holidays.
Ensure greenhouses are well ventilated, and damp down the floor when watering to help cool the plants
Prune Wisteria now, to get all the whispy growth under control.
Pull up weeds to avoid them going to seed to help keep weed growth and germination in check.
Dead head all summer bedding regularly and perennials to promote new flower growth - Feed when watering once a week, for all baskets and containers, to ensure lush and healthy looking plants, this will also encourage new flower production, through summer into autumn.
Prune back any flowering lavender as it finishes flowering, by cutting out old flowering stems, and only trim back the new growth leaving the old wood alone, to promote healthy flowering growth next year
Any damage on trees or shrubs should be pruned out to avoid any future issues.
Prune summer fruiting trees, which are trained or restricted types.
Cut out fruit canes on raspberries which have fruited this summer, to promote the new growth for fruit production next season
