Frost!Keep an eye out for frost - there is still a small chance even in May! Clean The Garden Furniture.Now's the time to get out your garden furniture and clean it up for the warmer evenings. There are different ways to your furniture depending on the type of furniture you've got. Metal furniture may simply need a wipe down, whilst wooden furniture may need a light sanding followed by a coat of teak oil or gloss. Rockeries.For those who have rockeries, a full range of Alpines should now be available. Remember to add plenty of coarse grit to the soil for drainage! Give Those Climbers A Foothold!Keep an eye on your climbers as they may grow well as the warmer weather approachesSupport growing climbers and tall plants with stakes. As the weather gets warmer these plants will start to grow so it's good to be prepared! Aphid Alert!There is now a chance of early Aphid problems, so check your plants and spray to keep them at bay. Come and speak to the horticultural team if your not sure which chemicals or sprays to use. Pond PlantingNow is a good time to plant up your garden pond, with Water Lilies, Oxygenating and Marginal plants. It is best to plant them in that order and fill your pond gradually. You can also, earlier in the month overhaul any established plants by thinning growth and removing any blanket weed.
