Angelsey Abbey - Gardens & Lode Mill

Anglesey Abbey, just outside Cambridge is a place of peace and tranquility.
Built in 1236 and costing 600 sheep to build, the abbey was doomed to be dissolved by King Henry VIII in 1536.
Afterwards, it became a family home and today houses some rare works of art.
Step inside the mill and see how the power of water is harnessed to grind tens of tons of flour each year.
Or enjoy the 114 acres of landscaped and wildlife gardens.
